Trampolining

Gymnastics Trampoline

Trampolining is a competitive sport related to gymnastics. A gymnast will use the trampoline to aid themselves in performing various aerial maneuvers including tumbling and twists which became an Olympic sport in the year 2000. A trampolining routine contains 10 bounces from the trampoline and must start and end on the feet. From there the gymnast can use their front, back, seat and feet to perform their various twists, tumbles and turns. There are various shapes that the gymnast can use while performing their routine and each in a prescribed manner. There are events for not only individuals but synchronized trampolining. Synchronized routines are judge on how well the gymnasts perform together.

Childrens Trampolines

Children’s trampolines generally hold much less weight than a true trampoline. Olympic trampolines must meet the standards of the Olympic committee and hold up to the rigors of professional competition as well as the weight of adult bodies. Children are encouraged to play with trampolines as it provides a fun method of cardiovascular activity. Plus they can learn new skills in relative safety. Many parents may be able to recall themselves or have seen their kids playing on a big trampoline. It is a great accomplishment to watch a child learn how to perform various flips and tricks while in relative safety. It is important to note that a parent should supervise their child and setup safety precautions around the edge of the trampoline if possible. Also the weight limit of a trampoline should be strictly observed. The trampoline could be set around padding such as gym mats in case of an accident where a child is thrown out of the center of the trampoline toward the ground.

Biggest Jumping Trampoline

Trampolines come in various sizes. There are round and square versions of the trampoline and even innertube trampolines that can be set out on a water surface. A water trampoline should be set in a safe area where the water is deep enough for kids to not hit bottom in an accident, but also stay away from motorized water vehicles. It is also important that children have life jackets on and to be supervised at all times when playing in the water with a trampoline. The largest round trampoline found in an online search is 16 ½ feet. Other large trampolines may be around, but Big Air claims to be the largest on the market. It is important to check safety regulations and features available when purchasing such an item for home use.
