Leotards are worn by gymnasts and many other performers for both practice and performance. They are skin tight garments that are in one piece that leave the legs free of material. A few different styles are common for leotards. The one-piece leotard features one solid pattern throughout the whole garment. The two-piece leotard normally features one solid color about the shoulders with a different print or color for the rest of the body. A strap-style leotard features thin straps like on a tank top or bra. There are also leotards that have long sleeves. A leotard should not be confused for a unitard, although they are similar a unitard also has long legs. Most commonly a sleeveless leotard is used during practice and a long sleeve leotard in performance.

Patriotic colors and designs perfect for a gymnastics squad to feel like a team rather than individuals. The performance wear for Adidas features various colors from maroon, to aqua, to forest green. The women’s apparel is all long sleeved and many feature the traditional Adidas stripes on their arms or the sides of their torsos. The men’s apparel feature tops that look like skin tight A-shirts or tank tops.
